Is Job Corps just another victim of funding sources? Rest assured, if this were a county program, Edwards & his allies would've done the same thing long ago, eventually closing down the facility permanently.

Such decisions have become the norm in dealing with taxpayer-funded services, UNLESS of course it involves employees who possess the power to vote out of office any pol who supports such decisions.

Freezing the enrollment of one of the BEST educational and training programs available to our youth? This is outrageous. One that is counter productive to say the least.

We all want to reduce those on welfare, especially the generational recipients. Why then do we so often cut the funding of the very programs that work to do this?

I have worked very closely with the local Jobs Corps, helping many local youth to enroll in their programs. They help the students get an education (such as GED) and job training. After they graduate, they are given assistance in getting a job or enrolling in further educational programs. They have an excellent success rate.

I hope we all will make calls to our legislators to tell them cut somewhere else (Hmm maybe like defense) ...not in the programs that help our children.

This program offers training in construction and health related areas that is needed very much. A wise use of funds and I think the government should be able to find other ways to save money.
