This Carlson is a shady as they come with everything he does. Is it legal? Yes. Should he have abstained from the vote ethically? Yes. Did he? Nope.

This coach IS highly qualified and will do a wonderful job as coach. Mr. Carlson is anything BUT shady and would not under any circumstances vote for someone that would not not represent the district to the best of their ability. This coach has played on a winning CVCS team that went to the State title years ago.

Reuther has a point -- who should take CVCS athletics seriously, if CVCS doesn't? The CVCS board and coaching should have recognized the potential stench of impropriety with this situation, and thus, should have gone above-board, extra-mile with the handling of this hiring.

But they did not.

So, for all appearances, despite the coach's qualifications, this hiring was tantamount to hillbilly style inbreeding. Carlson should now be referred to as "Board Member-Daddy" Carlson.

Mr. Carlson is a very upstanding man. Even if he had not voted, the vote would be 3-0 with one abstention. What is more important, teaching our kids the important lessons in life that sports teach or winning at all costs. Reuther is a trouble maker and a loudmouth.

The point isn't in whether the Coach is qualified. The point is in his failing to abstain on the vote. Ethically he should have on principle. Period.

Now that the decision is made we will let the W-L record tell the story. Now, even the won lost record miight not be the whole factor. Fredonia Football has beaten Dunkirk I believe 14 or so years in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel the appointment of the modified coach was a perfect choice. She will do a great job for all. She has the experience that is needed and she will be fair to the students that are trying out. It will not be who you are and who you know that will be chosen to play, they will be chosen on their ability. They will also be chosen on their heart for the game and taught about sportsmanship which some of these kids need to learn!!!
