The Rothner name has the reputation of being pisss poor business people!
You know who's even worse at it? The government. The CCH should not be owned by the government. End of story.

Did you all know Todd Tranum started some BS last week that there was a sign posted at the County Home telling everyone not to shop at any business that supported Greg Edwards?....There was and is no such sign!....Mr.Tranum is a snake, just like Edwards and his band of banditos!.

3 answers. Mr. Tranum is a democrat. 35 firms responded to the RFP, only 2 were eventually willing to make an offer. Mr. William Rothner does not operate homes in Illinois, his father does.

Typically, I applaud the use of data, but not when selectively cherry-picked to disingenuously bolster one side. Mr Tranum does just that. In fact, he's holding up an apple & claiming. "why its an orange." For shame, I studied Deming as well & highly doubt he support your blatant twisting of his philosophies.
Devon Gables' high marks is due to the $$$ of the Tucson market than Rothner's ability. Tucson's major employers are University of AZ, Raytheon and the US military. This affluence is indicative in the stats of Devon Gables $$$ residents: they have higher marks in health prior to admittance than the national and AZ avg. Devon Gables is 5 star because the $$$. Besides, why does Illinois consider Rothner one of the worst home operators?
Tranum, do a true Deming: compare apples w/apples. Show us where Rothner successfully turned-around & continues to operate a rest home with the exact econometrics and demographics as this county.
You can't and you kno

Sure, mkt prices are dictated by buyer demand, but that doesn't mean you should totally ignore a property's fair mkt value.
With the CCLeg apparently willing to sell at such a ridiculously low price, I'm very suspicious to why no other investors have come forward to bid on the CCH? I believe the CCLeg needs to investigate exactly how much effort Marcus & Millichap have put into advertising for legitimate offers, or did M&M merely help a former business associate try to steal a valuable health care facility for .25 on a $1?

Captain..I asked the same question..why is the CEO of the Chamber weighing in on this issue at all? what does this have to do with the support of local businesses or helping to bring more businesses into our area?
Of course he also supported the Meadows Development..for "affordable" housing. Did he really think that would bring more jobs to this area?
Why is he not spending more time trying to push for training programs to train workers for all those jobs he says are out there..but we just do not have the trained workers to fill?

Todd's comments about emotions are verified by Lori cornells article on the next page. Somehow the govt became godlike in its ability. Above even private enterprise. Any disagreement with that and you get a label, a republican is speaking. that says nothing.

Why is everyone ignorant to the fact that the Home is worth what you can get for it. It was out there for sale and only came up with one legitimate buyer. How do you think you have any argument with no buyers. As for facts it seems Mr. Tranum has ratings on Avi's homes. The only problem here is that the free loaders are afraid they are going to lose their free ride.

If Mr Tranum feels this way, he certainly is entitled to his own opinion, but I feel he has abused his position as Chamber President by publicly supporting the sale of the home to Avi Rothner, and I believe it was wrong to do so in an official capacity.
In his letter, Mr Tranum accuses others of spreading false information, yet he himself doesn't hesitate to spread misinformation concerning how much money CCH is allegedly losing.
Some estimates list the county home's assessed value as worth 3 to 4 times the price that Mr Rothner has offered. Why in the world does Mr Tranum support selling the home at such a ridiculously low price?
