I know when I was in school my class size was close to 20 kids from K all the way up to 5th grade at Cassadaga's elementary school. So my opinion, LARGE classroom sizes are fine, yes I know its a little harder to teach a large class but they did it just fine when I was there, and they do it at the High School just fine, so why not in the Elementary School. Also it will make it easier going into 6th grade because you will know everyone. Close the Elementary School in Cassadaga, and turn it into a Community Center on one side and put in Senior Independent Living on the other. As for the teachers Move them to Sinclairville or have them run after school programs for the kids and during the day they could run adult classes.

If you moved her for the school I feel for you. Too bad you did not check the population trends. The are (sadly is in decline. Should have been here in the late 40's and 50's. You could have taken any children you had then for a ride on the Stowe Ferry.

Wow, back in the mid 70's they wanted to close it when they closed the Gerry and Stockton Elementary schools. Back then it was a back door way of centralizing into one building. This time it really appears that Cassadaga Valley is going through what all the other districts are going through. This trend will continue until the policies are changed in this state to where young families want to stay and raise a family.

what is so hard about closing schools ? Enrollment and population have been declining for years. I think school pupils peaked in the early 70's. I do not understand the problem over this.
