March 8, 2013

FORESTVILLE — Facebook is often cited as an example of “social media.” Judging by an exchange made public at a recent village board meeting, Facebook could be called “anti-social media....

Knowing the board member involved in the argument, I would say that the resident who left the meeting hit the nail squarely on the head and if she can't be any more professional as a public official then she shouldn't be on the board. Childish behavior from someone who claims to be an adult has absolutely no place in any public officilal capacity. The behavior of one taints the entire board in any community.

"Resident Michael Wojtowiak got up to leave during the exchange. "This is like an argument between 12-year-olds," he said as he made his way to the door."

I SO agree. The board member who posted the water bill on fb should be ashamed. Her comment that the other one started it sounds just like my grandchildren when in an argument. It is always the other one's fault. She is an elected official. She has an ethical level a bit higher than other residents. she needs to act like it.

So eagleswings you think it was ok for J. Kholer to post that K. Stott (a board member) had not paid her bill. When in fact she had, so she posted her own paid bill. This has been an unfair witch hunt against Kim

*judeye from what I understand Ms Stott was never actually elected. So there is ALOT more to this entire thing than what is in this article. That really is no place for this kind of childish behavior. I think both hold very important positions in the community and their time would be better spent concentrating on the obligations they have been entrusted with.

If nothing else, Forestville politics are pretty entertaining for everyone else.

So typical of Ms Stott! Bullying should not be tolerated by anyone, especially those acting on behalf of the village. We need a new set of trustees on the board - lets all get out there and vote for change!

Just saw the paper and read that Jen was running her mouth again! What right does she have posting false stuff about a trustee! All these comments, talk about 12 year olds. Wasn't this brought to the Board of Ethics and Trustee Stott had to comment at the meeting to them??? Seems to me she was acting professional and responded to Jens question.Trustee Kim only told the facts. I would like to say grow up to that Mike guy who I heard applied for the job that Brewster got and now he comes to the meetings and is rude! Glad the board didn't hire him. Everyone in that village knows the Jen family and knows how they bash everyone I saw comments on here before that people told her off and she had all them removed well here We go again. I also wouldn't want Jen in my home seeing her actions at the board meetings. She is out of controll, unhappy, and unprofessional. She put she doesn't pay her water bill well its public knowledge. Let the board members do there job.

Christopher,

Yeah, it's almost enough to make you look kindly all Dunkirk/Fredonia/County politics.

As for the story itself, both these women need to relax, but as a village official, Stott should not be posting information about other residents on Facebook. As for who "started it" that stops being important after you get out of 3rd grade.

This is actually one of the main problems with the internet in general, and facebook specifically, is that they give people a much larger forum in which to act like drooling idiots.

From the tenor of recent meetings, maybe we could merge the Silver Creek and Forestville boards' monthly meetings...and sell tickets!

Forestville government sounds like a script for a new reality show.

Kim is just rude, she has always snubbed her nose at people that, in her opinion, are not as good as she is, like she is all that. I give her no credibility at all. I messaged her once about Sherm doing some work for me, no response nor did she ever tell Sherm that I had asked. Just not a very nice person in my opinion

Both these women make me sick- they are Forestville village idiots- both are always looking down on people, creating issues for others. Would never trust an ounce of personal life with them but sadly they are both involved in Forestville via board member and the other Fire Department. Both are not inocent in anyway.

all I have to say is LOL. "I don't want to pay a water bill when I feel like I am getting nothing for it," said Kohler. um you are getting water RIGHT????? or does your faucet not produce and provide running water. I am sorry PAY YOUR BILL or pay the $7000 & dig a well and stop complaining. thanks for a laugh,& yes being an official for a village you probably should not be providing information on village residents on FaceBook. Yes it is public record but let the public look it up on their own no matter how much of a pain JK is.

You people talk about 12 year olds, listen to you. Were any of you at that meeting cause I was and you are wrong. Trustee Stott did not post J Kohlers water bill on line. If you were listening Stott stated and read the post on Facebook that J Kohler posted saying Trustee Stott doesn't pay a water bill and hides her business, but I guess that is ok in your eyes! All Stott did was put her own water bill on Facebook that showed she did pay her water bill. Who is wrong here, open your eyes and 95% of forestville knows how J Kohlers is and remember A FOOL DOESN'T KNOW WHO'S WHO!

How funny... you can always tell which person posting comments is one of the subjects of the article. Offended, defensive and once again posting something online that they'll never be held accountable for. Yes I'm talking about *simplythebest*. I don't see anyone involved this situation growing up anytime soon. OBVIOUSLY

LisaE02- funny you think I'm one of them. I'm only stating what was said at the meeting. You must not have been there aIong with all these others. I've gone to some of the meetings and they make me sick. The group that always goes that complain about the same **** over and over and look how many trustees leave before there term is up! You couldn't pay me enough to be one! If they would let them do there jobs. I haven't gone to the last few because it is out of controll but I did go to the last one and what a bunch of rude people! Really after reading the paper and seen j kosher was involved I thought nothing because I know how she is. Wake up people

implythebest,

Water bill aside a village official shouldn't be getting into slap fights Facebook.

That is not to say that the other woman was in the right, simply that we should expect better from our public officials.

Remember, we rely on our public officials to have good judgement, and getting into catfights online shows extremely poor judgement.
