Minor error gets corrected

March 12, 2013

Are we surprised that a $1,000 billing error in Albany is enough to make the headlines? Not really when you consider how state leaders for years have tossed around millions and billions of dollars......

Dcronlg,

I'm 100% serious when I say you really need to relax, and maybe get offline for awhile because your comments are reading more and more like Steiners comments, and that's not a good thing my friend.

It's nice to see this paper admit to a mistake when it makes one. Should the Senator have known? Probably but unlikely. This could have happened to any one of us. The bank gets and pays the tax bill, we forward the bills to our tax preparer and never really look at them ourselves.

So, in yet another in a long line of proof points to show their militant ignorance, the clueless church lady gaggle OBSERVER board says, "Silver Creek's approval of purchasing questionable land is one of the major problems with our governments that cannot get a handle on spending. That is big news."

Before they were trustees, they were just village folk. Then they took on a job where they were entrusted with fiduciary responsibilities for which were unprepared and probably inexperienced.

Our democratic republic always has been an ongoing experiment. For the gaggle's enlightenment, the big news isn't spending and government aren't the problem -- that's sooo 1980. The issue is and always has been that government -- and any of its spending and taxation -- is of, by and for the people -- no matter how inexperienced as they may be.

If there's a problem with government, then there's a problem of and by the people including the gaggle.
