What the hay, when I went to school there was a SRO in each and every classroom. They were called teachers or Nuns and they had cans of whoop butt or rulers and the backup was the Principal. Ah the good old days. Just a less costly observation folks, carry on!

How much could it cost to spread the salary of that officer among all those paying Fredonia school taxes? It couldn't be that much.

So let me get this straight village of fredonia residents. You want town of pomfret residents to pay more taxes for a sro. Well I am in another town with fredonia schools and have delusional taxes because I prefer a nice place. Do you expect me to pay more too because I am sick of nys taxes and fredonia school taxes. I went to fredonia schools and IT is nothing special. Why don't you cut some spending, jobs, or salaries if you want an sro so bad. Or better yet have judeye pay the bill. Thank goodness I don't live in the village, you couldn't pay me enough. So with that get off your village high horse!

What the heck, village citizens pay 66 percent of the Pomfret costs any way. Pomfret students go to Fredonia school so the town should pay it's share and stop riding on the backs of the village citizens. As usual, Steger wants another free ride...

By the way, I agree that the town should be dissolved. I'm just saying that those living in the town of pomfret yet have to send their kids to another district (Brocton, Cassadaga) should not have to pay for Fredonia's resource officer

Funny how the Town is fine with asking Village taxpayers for more money, but when the shoe is on the other foot...

People who live in the Town do not pay Village Tax but people who live in the Village pay Town tax. Either the Town becomes part of the Village or they should start paying Village taxes. The Town residents have the same services that the Village residents have. Time to get serious about merging the two. School should be on a tuition basis and paid for by people who have students in school. Residents who send their children to Catholic School pay School Tax and Tuition. Time for a change!!!!

The school and village should split the cost 50-50 and they should leave the town out of it.

MANY people who live in the largest portion of the Town of Pomfret do so to be in the Fredonia school district without paying Village taxes. Just saying...

The Fredonia School District is not the only district that residents of the Town of Pomfret belong to. What about Brocton Schools? Does part of my Pomfret taxes go to support anything in the Brocton School? Probably not. I am all for having SRO's but if you help fund for one in one district you should help fund for the other.
