Don't put too much faith in the accuracy of the newspaper reporting. My guess is that he didn't get overpaid at all, just underpaid. But in any case, it's still pretty low pay when you consider a family on welfare makes more than that.

$15.61 to supervise one employee and sit in the truck while the employee does all the work. Sit in the office watch TV and read the newspaper, two people to drive around and check roads in the dark-priceless. Now having to repay an overpayment before the end of the fiscal year-not so priceless. What the Village Board needs to do-remove the title of Superintendent from his title and make him a "working Supervisor". Write a job description as it pertains to the Village of Cassadaga and make certain he follows it.

Paying $15.61/hr for a Streets Supervisor sounds pretty cheap if you ask me.
As far as Fetter saying: "Of course I'm not happy to get less in my check." Huh???
Just wonder how he felt when he was being overpaid.

Three problems with this situation, first the employee didn't bring to his employer attention that he was being over paid. Second the clerk didn't question why such any additonal increase after passing the budget. Finally, at each board meeting the trustee's cover bills and payroll and sign a ledger as to the accuracy of such information provided by the clerk. Makes one wonder how many other errors have been occurring with the long time Village Clerk?
