The good Dr has it almost right. His article describes what america used to be. It is no longer. Half the people receive some govt assistance or pay no income tax. Obamas famous statement "you did not build that" is a complete reversal of american ideals.Spoken by a man whose continent is /was hardly a leader in thought and innovation. Speak for yourself only Obama. he should be ridiculed for this. Nowadays, we need a govt program for just about everything. environmental hysteria grips the populace. Western civ is hated. The only people thought capable of moving america forward now is the govt employee, especially the teachers union. education is our future they always say. They educate poorly for sure as witnessed by graduation rates, reading skills etc. Its a way of life to the democrat.

"...whose continent is /was hardly a leader in thought and innovation."

FYI...Obama's continent is North America, just like yours and mine.

If you're referring to Africa, regardless of what one thinks of the job Obama has done (or not done), might one term that comment racist?

...and tolerating the Steinerdzzzs of the world just as we tolerate chronic flatulence in a crowded elevator going from the lobby to the top floor of the Sears Tower...

Dc..who asked for your personal habits to be discussed here? Other than the racist jab at Obama and Africa, he's correct. But you wouldn't know that, you just vote down by who is commenting. Why take the time to read when you can be an a.s.s. in no time, right?

I voted for Romney because I thought he was the best candidate, not because of the continent of his ancestors. (Nothing Obama's done since the election has changed my mind.)

But I checked the full "didn't build that" quote to get the context:

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire

Every disagree comment saying race is racist to a lib. obamas home continent is Africa. Hardly a haven for science and business. South Africa is worse today for blacks than under apartheid. This written by black authors. It has been the individual or at best a small number of men, yes gals, i am sexist now, that have done everything. This is so the libs can mock once again, you did not build that. the posters know little of science or history. My roots are eastern europe. the slavs were slaves too.Slav and slave are the same thing. They can point to a much better science record than any african american on the planet. Fact lib. Fact. Who built my steinertrons ? why did not any of the posters do it ? learning disabled ? too much time in elevators dc ? Dk, just who built the science world ? tell us. You have not used a quote in awhile. hey dk, people came to america before roads and bridges. There was even an article in the Observer. where were the dumbocratic unions back then ?

the govt did not create the internet dk. private industry laid the foundation with the invention of the circuit chips. There is no internet without thee chips. The govt actually hindered it. Way back in the late 20's an obscure european had laid the foundation for transistors. Oh ,the libs and their govt worship. It is something they have to do to cover for their own intellectual shortcomings. Like Dc and all his gaggles , flatulence comments. No facts. Whats next dk, govt invent petrochemicals ?

hey posters, you do know slaves were captured with the help of local tribal, black leaders. we know that these leaders wanted to ship out anyone thought to be a possible opposition or a problem to local leaders. Facts, right from other printed sources. Look at the inner cities today. I'd say we got the ones africa wanted to get rid off. Look at the slavs in comparison. Both were slaves, yet the huge social difference between the two groups begs an explanation. learned posters ? racism or facts ?

hey dk, you did not build that. You might as well say we need food and drink too . everything would be reduced to basic understanding so a democrat could understand it. Why have patents and the great patent wars if one did not invent that? It is yet another insult by the democrats, the party of non invention , except for govt. Wilson would be pleased as he wanted the business man to be more clever in his business when underwood tariff was passed. Wilsons family suffered from PTSD as i think his ancestors were slaveholders. What to do but steal money ? Like cyprus . or as obama says, you did not build that. Obamas attempt to marginalize the great inventors. What an insult.

According to Tom Postmes, a professor of social and organisational psychology at the universities of Exeter, England, and Groningen, The Netherlands, and the author of Individuality and the Group, who has studied online behavior for 20 years:

"Trolls aspire to violence, to the level of trouble they can cause in an environment. They want it to kick off. They want to promote antipathetic emotions of disgust and outrage, which morbidly gives them a sense of pleasure."

Dk goofs it again. Why build the steinertrons ? huh ? why build any machine ?Why build CERN ? Dk does not understand science, just useless quotes. Dk cannot refute anything I have said so he resorts to meaningless quotes. We now have proof of a strong force, physics term not mine and can use it to modify the world. What i have written has been the subject of debate for centuries, if not millenia and the learned dk asks why .All you posters, try and refute what I said, you cannot. Hey dk, gravity is the next force that will bend to my steinertrons.gravity will be conquered, the holy grail of all grails. Why build that steinertron dk. Can you figure it out ? posters chime in at anythime.

Back on the subject..."'Promise' keeps America going"..Anyone read the yahoo article this morning on just how much the wonder that is Obamacare is really going to cost? There's a promise I hope we can get broken...and the sooner the better. Much more of this "hope and change" (from this administration and congress) and America is done.
