Deficit reduction deceit

March 23, 2013

After income taxes have been jacked up for a targeted class of people and payroll taxes increased for 77 percent of us, only Washington could name it the “American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012....

People need "fire and brimstone homilies" along with the ones that show the love of Christ. I would try to explain why it is needed but those that hate Christ wouldn't understand and those that love him already do.

Scary was a figure of speech, Mike. I figured my context clues would tip you off. I go into the poorest and roughest parts of my city everyday to provide services for the indigent. I see scary things, but I'm not scared. Politicians and religious people filled with vitriole scare me and the masses, and that's how they make progress for themselves without regard to what's best for the people. What scares me is that people line up for them. I hope you understand my use of the word scares in that context. Be the best version of you Mike, not one who lets their anger define them. You are an intelligent guy with good posts. To let my use of a figure of speech get your back up is unnecessary and beneath you.

When the Senate passed a budget resolution Wednesday that appears to prevent some of the potential damage from sequestration, the Continuing Resolution included several food- and agriculture-related earmarks.

But one inclusion in particular is especially controversial. The “biotech rider” would require the USDA to approve the harvest and sale of crops from genetically modified seed even if a court has ruled the environmental studies on the crop were inadequate. This aspect of the bill infuriated many sustainable food and agriculture groups, who nicknamed the bill the “Monsanto Protection Act.”

If signed into law by President Obama, here’s what the rider would do: It will allow farmers to plant, harvest and sell genetically engineered plants even if the crops have been ruled upon unfavorably in court. A Center for Food Safety statement called the rider “an unprecedented attack on U.S. judicial review of agency actions” and “ a major violation of the separation of powers.”

Just read an article on the new Senate budget. No cuts, more taxes, and NO deficit reduction. Another giant raspberry from the left. Fantastic, is it more of that "hope and change"? Or is this the left "compromising" again?

And Dc, your lack of even an iota of respect for people is the most telling thing about you. I bet your psych profile would scare the living daylights out of Small. Stay with the numbers, you have a lot in common with them, starting with your social skills.

Small, really? You get scared by a lot of things, don't you? For your sake I hope you have a job you can do from the safety and comfort of your home. It seems anyone that expresses an opinion that differs from yours is a cause for fear.

Dc, The opinion stated that spending needs to slow. How is Obama's spending increases of "only" 0.6% accomplishing that task? Your loyalty to the dear leader is only outdone by your love of chewing on your foot.

The content of The Rev's article isn't what bothers me. It's the tone that is so apalling. Any man who wears the title, reverend, and is a supposed man of the cloth, should not, in my opinion, demonstrate such anger and hate. To me that is very scary, and I would not want to be a member of his flock. They must experience some fire and brimstone homilies each Sunday. He seems like a man who teeters on the verge of instability and his anger makes me wonder what dastardly deeds he is capable of manifesting.

Dc out does himself here. jefferson is bad becuz he owned slaves. That would disqualify the entire democratic party too. The libs go to war to keep slaves, lose, form the klan and jim crow and dc mocks jefferson. The libs are fighting a lawsuit by alabama to undo some of the voting restrictions from a 60's vote act. this act was meant to undo jin crow. the libs are preserving their heritage. Dc your comment was breathtaking in revealing the mind of a democrat. Like i say, darwin makes you dumb.

dc goofs it again. I did not see any bible quotes. quotes , dk where are you ? jefferson bashed for owning slaves. The libs bash people for wanting their money . Wow.Dc proves my point. Anything that does not work is a success. Chronic high unemployment, breadlines. DC would have been happy in the great democratic depression.

The dear rev is a little confused. The economy is succeeding beyond any wild dreams of the dumbocrats. Obama bashing business, food stamps soaring, thats a breadline democrat and excessive regulation to stop those greedy business people.Who did not build anything anyways. I never could figure that. By any measure the dumbocrats have strangled america. Its part of the hope and change by that african democrat, obama. we have the greatest or dumbest depending on your viewpoint, since wilson or FDR. wilson thought oil was a dud. green energy anyone ? FDR bashed businessmen continualy. Obama has been trained well.Anything that does not work will atract a democrat who makes it into law. we see it in operation.

Its is quite clear that the Reverend uses only the Bible for his inspiration, his learning, his research and his skills -- because he lacks in all other departments. But then again, who is never one to be in a position of passing judgment based on ignorance and know-nothing than a country preacher?

For the reverend's enlightenment, anyone, ANY ONE, including you, who has any debt whatsoever -- credit cards, mortgage, car loan, student loans, home equity loans or any combination of these -- has a deficit, period. In fact, this "terrible" deficit was 10% of US GDP when Obama took office and now it only 5%. In perspective, a mortgage payment is allowed to be 28% of a monthly budget. Is 5% more terrible than 28%. Hello? Math anyone?? And spending under Obama has only increased 0.6% in his years.

And to quote Jefferson -- that adulterating, vast (over 200+) slave holder -- for morality purposes??? You're an idiot.
