not the reason roberta. Westfield voters will turn Brocton down. They did not want to loose their school building, which will happen with westfield anyhow!

The Office of the Comptroller for NYS has performed audits on FCS. Fredonia taxpayers may be interested to see what their audit found (payments for healthcare to a superintendent that has long left Fredonia? Hmmm). It is so sad that such a small group of people dictate where our money is spent.

roberta2, where have you been, Fredonia had talks with Brocton, brocton voters refused a merger, while Fredonia approved it. Now Fredonia and Dunkirk are moving ahead on shared services

mrwedge, Dunkirk gets an over abundance of State Aid, much more than they should, they also have the electric generating plant that pays 50% of all their taxes, take away that plant (which might happen) and you will see the Dunkirk school taxes go WAY up! Now as far as union goes, most municipal unions are taking a 0% raise over the next few years, the school board needs to do the same with the teachers union! Teachers at top pay make 85-90 thousand way too much for this area to support! The school budget, which is mostly wages is what is killing the community, irresponsible school boards giving away tax payer money!

Shocking that fredonia school taxes will go up again. And for what because its "FREDONIA". Big deal went there 20 years ago and nothing has changed. Same problems year after year. Wish my kids could go elsewhere. Why folks think its so great is beyond me. Time to vote another budget down. Time to cut the fat and save tax payers some money.

I might as well just give them my bank account number so I can make it easier for them to take my hard earned money. Time for me to look for a second job. Can't afford to live here much longer with the Taxes increasing at this rate. I should have stayed down south. The taxes were reasonable and the school system in the area was very good.

Good old Fredonia....the school system where pay increases no matter what the economic situation. Whereas, in the real world everyone else has to tighten their belt and deal with less. Pathetic!!!

How does Dunkirk have all their figures for their budget but Fredonia doesn't? 6 years of no increases for Dunkirk says somebody is doing it right and somebody isn't.

Thank god we finally have broke the 30 million dollar mark, good job. This for a school district that is getting smaller and smaller by the year.

"He said the legislators were receptive but they had heard it all before."

Just one of the problems with the NYS Legislature...inaction on behalf of taxpayers.
