Government and manufacturing statewide lost a total of 28,300 jobs but in our county government jobs increased by 4.8%. Therein lies the foundation for the financial plight of our county. At a time when we should be decreasing the size and cost of local government, we are infact increasing the size and cost. Maybe that explains why the private sector is shrinking and the population dropping!
