Disagree. This should be reported. Any meetings held by public officials concerning the public should be announced and open to said public. Nobody wants to see "closed door politics". Transparent government at the smallets levels is a necessity. It probably was an honest mistake, bowever, that doesnt excuse it.

Overtaxed..the observer seldom reports the truth. Attempting to exploit something that isn't there is not the truth.

Most of you people are to quick to condemn the Observer . After all , all they did was report the truth . The “ Open Meetings Law ” was put into place so the public can keep an eye on their politicians . I also believe Nick made a honest mistake but it still needed to be reported .

And you wonder why no one wants to run for office and help their community. WTG Jon.

Mr. Piccolo, If I was Mayor, I would make the "Buffalo News" the official newspaper for the Village. After all, Sue Chiappone prints factual information from board meetings in the paper not this garbage.

Must be Mr. Piccolo forgot to invite Anna and her cronies. I'm sure she dropped the dime to the observer.

So, here we go again. The Observer with nothing better to do again has gone after a village for something minor and is trying to make something out of nothing. Here is my take. I think the Observer and it's publisher is, as usual trying to divert the attention from it's poor reporting and constant errors in spelling and facts. I for one am getting tired of reading news that is two days old and close to not renewing. How about reporting fresh news and stop going after news that isn't.Give these people a chance.

This may be the dumbest article this newspaper has ever published. Board members that meet to designate their duties as they take office is not a matter the public needs to be involved in. Nicole Gugino (reporter) should be ashamed of this article. Talk about looking for a problem that doesn't exist....sheesh!!

illegal board meetings happen every second and fourth Tuesdays in Dunkirk in that a citizen can only comment on the agenda to be presented, there is no room for questions anymore unless your one of the elected ,then let the questions rain

Why would any government make the Observer the official newspaper? Then again, why would somebody make this gathering an issue? We have very simple minded people in this world.

The penalty for holding a meeting like this is that someone can challenge it, take them to court, and the court rules that any action is vacated. Since no action was taken, we're back to where we started. Hmmmm.

Tempest in a Tea Pot. Now, who made this an issue, The Observer, or did someone else CALL the Observer?

You have got to be kidding. The board got together to go over duties that they would be undertaking for the next year with a new Mayor and this you call a meeting that the public needed to attend. Who complained about the so called meeting? I can only make a guess but I am sure that everyone knows in the village who she is. Give the board a chance. Hopefully this will be a blessing to Silver Creek instead of the bad leadership we have had over the last 8 years.
