The citizens of Fredonia seems to be on track to pass a budget with a tax hike that meets with plenty of their approval. They understand the costs in the future are not going away, especially as they are a college town and hence educated in basic math -- and they are fine with the costs.

Its the clueless church lady gaggle OBSERVER board that is both unwilling and unable to get it this headline through their collective heads, "Fredonia: Proposal satisfies us for our present and our future."

or better yet:

"Fredonia: Doesn't need a West Virgina Sugardaddy to meet payroll like the OBSERVER."

Last I knew Fredonia "citizens" did not vote for the budget. Last I knew it was a decision made only by the trustees. Would I be wrong on that???

Should read: "The majority of the ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES of Fredonia seem to be on track to pass a budget...etc., etc., if in fact we're looking for absolute accuracy.

"or better yet:

"Fredonia: Doesn't need a West Virgina Sugardaddy to meet payroll like the OBSERVER.""

How ironic you mention that. So, you're saying Fredonia doesn't need to ask permission for the money it takes from taxpayers, it just does so at its own behest? Yup, pretty much sums it up, even though I disagree with some items it is being spent on. And your implication that "approval" of a budget is unanimous for every resident is infinitely simplistic and incorrect. Church lady gaggle, blah blah blah...

"So, Fredonia seems to be on track to pass its budget with a tax hike that includes plenty of excuses." This intimates all the population of Fredonia. I believe "trustees" should have been inserted after Fredonia.

....(sigh...) the Fredonia trustees are elected via a democratic process and hence, they represent the village residents. Being in such a small town, surely the trustees are very aware of and do listen to their constituents concerns and hence, voted for a budget which their constituents approved -- ergo, "The citizens of Fredonia seems to be on track to pass a budget with a tax hike that meets with plenty of their approval..."

Seriously, you guys need a remedial in fiscal and budgetary approval and spending process for a duly democratically elected representatives???

What stupid logic. They do the will of the people. Just like congressmen, legislators and senators......right???

Might as well let the school board make the decision on the budget as they are elected right?

Joe, they pretty much do, with only a microscopic token of respect for what taxpayers think. How else would school budgets contain admins galore, and building projects that spare no expense? Their consideration of the public's burden is miinimal.
