This is why the county veterans department exists. They get by on a shoestring budget every year, yet many legislators continue to try to cut their budget in the name of tax savings.

Fred is correct. The county's social services budget is over $85M. The county's veterans budget is barely over $200K. Despite these figures, Coughlin and Ahlstrom have both tried to cut the veterans budget.

Did the fire alarm go off with all the HOT air. " I am asking.... etc." There is no real action plan with objectives and deadlines.

As soon as a vet puts in for these property reductions because of service connection ratings the townships / villages raise your tax valuation on your property to equal the tax reduction. In essence, zeroing it out. This is what the town beaucrats do to keep the taxes rolling in. they oould care less about disabled veterans. they still fll their greedy pockets with too high salaries and never show up at the office.
