DonaldTrump...The job has never been posted.. I believe other employees children through out the years have worked summer help as well.. I could name names but I won't. You should be thankful that, the whole family volunteers their time to help their community. Do you vounteer your time or just waste it writing comments?

keepitreal1 - yes i can count 2 in the streets dept, 1 water sewer and 1 paid in fire dept. that makes 4. No I dont fault a college student for takingg a summer job, I do fault the Village for not announcing the position to the rest of us outsiders that pay taxes who may also have a college student who wants to work also.

DonaldTrump,, maybe you dont know how to count.. there are 3 Griewisch's that work for the village. And they all volunteer in Silver Creek, their own personal time to help others in need. Including the Superintendent's daughter. The job has never been posted as a help wanted ad. Be thankful someone wants the job of mowing lawns all day long..shame shame on you DonaldTrump for having to comment on a college student getting a summer job.

AWorkingSupv is correct. The Fire Dept will always be there to assist with traffic also. The biggest difference you will notice is the color of the cars patrolling the village.

Mr Hotelling, I commend you for what you do with the Laurel Run and yes this is a big event for the Village of Silver Creek. I hope this continues to grow. However, I was to point out the "security" for the event is provided by volunteers. The Fire Police, who are firemen donate their time closing the roads down for your event. Yes, volunteers, a group of selfless individuals who will continue donate their time for the Laurel Run no matter which color police car is at the corner.

Still working the " Good Ole' Boy Routine". Instead of grabbing the bull by the horns! Well it looks like the last person leaving will need to turn the lights out. Come on people some one in the Village needs to get a grip on reality. The Honeymoon is over.

Mr. Hotelling, what you do for people with disabilities is a great honor for your daughter. When you have your event in the village, it's not only 2 village of SC police cars directing traffic. It's a slew of sheriff cars and state police cars assisting also. If you lose the village police department, 2 more cars will come, they will just be a different color trust me.

I must have missed the help wanted ad for summer employment in the paper. Why not hire another Griewisch, we already have 4 on the payrolls, whats one more. This is very hard to swallow that the only candidate the village hires is the Superintendent's kid. Time to take the for sale sign out of the truck parked outside the dpw, lets follow the tradition she will need her own truck now too. SHAME SHAME on the board.

So let's get this straight. Nothing resolved about police. 1 women complains about park, so now there will be no smoking in the open air, oh forgot us smokers hold down children and blow the smoke right into their faces, and yet another Griewisch gets a village job. All in all sounds like business as usual.
