"An even better solution: we need to stop fetishizing breasts in this culture." A decent article about Healthcare in general until that last line. Than it turned into just another feminist rant from the 1960's.

Jolie & Pitt have given millions to overseas causes they should now start a program offering free test and monetary assistance with surgery. Something like St. Jude Hospital for children.

Choice, choice , choice is only for the women, not for schools. Fetishizing breasts ? thats how the gals in Hollywood make their money. I have read that in primitive cultures the men could suckle the young, produce milk gals. Yes ! It was a suprise to the researchers ! You know what that means dont ya ? The female breast , the defining body part of a woman is redundant and is there for pleasure !Sarah says no way if your liberated. here is something more too. If one is clever and reads ancient literature, one can build machines that make great anti cancer remedies. I have said machines, built at a fraction of what Jolie makes in a movie.Of course it is advanced science here. The liberated gals need their man, govt and its funding. There seem to be no Curies alive today.Sarah fights nature instead of working with it. Thats what liberals do !What more do the liberated gals need from the govt sarah ?

Women have prophylactic mastectomies all the time if one breast other is cancerous. The only reason this made news is because Jolie let it become news - who is going to say "no" to her wishes, she is a famous person with lots of money. She should have, in addition to the mastectomy, had bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy because the chances of ovarian cancer with the BRCA mutation also increase. In the right situation, I'm pretty sure anyone with that high of a percentage (87%) would be given the option Jolie chose. It would indeed be nice if she and Pitt would start donating their money to charities here in the United States instead of worrying about overseas - some day, the very children they adopted could be their worst nightmare. Sorry for the rant, it's just that this type of surgery DOES occur for normal women, but they don't make the news.

Maybe, as a society, we'll stop fetishizing breasts when men stop fetishizing their guns, ammo and the 2nd amendment.

Until then...

Christopher,

My thinking exactly, although it had already taken a lefist turn when the writer decided what Jolie should do with her money.

Wow, Dcronlg truly has become the leftist Steiner hasn't he?

All of you people and especially cronig missed what I said. You simply state names . America used to be the land of tinkerers. Cronig needs a govt grant to think. Jolie has plenty of money . Just like we got anesthesia via tinkerers, one can make wonderful energetic anti cancer remedies if one is clever. cronig get the grants lined up, wait , I did it on my own dime. The posters missed my men producing milk fact. A whole lot of science is revealed on the anomalies. So posters, try and get past just names. It aint science.

Steiner,

They might not have missed what you said, instead I think most people just ignore your posts because they have grown tired of your inane misogynistic ramblings.

Mastectomies are against the Religion of George W. Bush and most sensible Republicans. I say ban them and do it now, God is already mad enough about the gays and lesbians we let frolic and cavort around our Great Country.
