Per this article in today's paper..... Funds, staff keep shrinking....you should be appealing to the greed of the three music teachers and the cost of the music program. It's great that music did this for you. The same argument could be made for sports. It seems that everything motivates people except academics. I guess no one is ever motivated or reaches success because of math, reading, history etc? All things non academic, music and sports, can be gotten privately if the interest is that important to one's character and development.

Commentor sounds like myself. Allyson cannot be well rounded as she lacks analytical skills. Take a look at WNY. Population declining schools everywhere closing, merging. Allyson, if you were well rounded you would see this. It cannot be stopped with the current crop of anti business enviro wackos we have in office now. get ready for more school problems, it is inevitable. What commentor says about academics was said by the great scientists who immigrated to this country. They said , what is it with aports, entertainment or music that enthralls so many people ? What happened to the love of learning. Thank darwin, if your a democrat these scientists loved learning and academics for we would not have the world we live in without them and their science.

Typical, Commenturd, typical -- whether or not you took advantage of such programs, you had the privilege of having music and sports in your school system -- and when current students want the same as you had, well, all you can say is, "All things non academic, music and sports, can be gotten privately..."

You were no more entitled to these programs than these kids are.

CVCS' problem is that's its a district of increasingly ignorant Tea Party farmers -- like the rest of this county where they can hardly read, certainly don't know how to write and arithmetic is a furrin libru- soundin' word.

I am a supporter of doing what is best for our kids but where were they when the board was doing there budget work sessions when these items could have been addressed at the time. Coming to the board meeting eight days before the budget vote was not the time to get this taken care of.
