‘Pork’ spending a problem here too

May 20, 2013

I’m curious why with all of the complaining over taxes in this area, as well as the entire state and country, why several local examples of pure “pork barrel” spending have been relatively ignore....

You ping-ponged all over the place with your rant -- as you, your grandparents, your parents, most of your neighbors and your entire community have all been economic benefactors of govt spending...excessive government spending as you call it...and you can start with Social Security.

Your last paragraph shows a political and economic naivete and ignorance which is quite unbecoming of you.

Whether you care to understand or not, you need to bone up on multiplier effects of government spending -- typically for every govt non-defense $1 locally spent, there's a corresponding $0.70 increase in local economic activity, because more more in being spread into more hands (food stamps is a huge one).

So, no, Christuufuu, "...prices of many goods and services would decline and we'd all be happier for it" wouldn't happen at all -- not in our consumption based economy.

You spend too much time with the church lady gaggle for your own good.

Cronig is at it again with his usual names. Govt spending a multiplier ? You kidding cronig. the stimulus did not work, keynesian economics is a bust. Cronig again I say we got all of our stuff we take for granted when govt was limited. Cronig never lets facts get in his way. The progressives like cronig think the govt is their saviour. This has spawned a large defense network of special interests to protect as they might get swallowed up like in prohibition or energy companies with the hysteria over carbon dioxide.cronig knows nothing at all except names like church lady gaggle and he calls me a misogynt. cronig how is it you know so little ? need a grant to think ?

hey cronig, our ancestors and us have been benefactors of private enterprise , not the govt. oil , gas, electricity, radio and electronics all invented by private enterprise. the govt had to react to all of this. So tell us learned cronig how the govt helped this along. Spending our way to prosperity as you call it. Come up with facts not names .
