The Board was given a presentation several weeks ago to save $180,000 dollars 18-20% tax CUT on police services. Is this going to be reality? Was there discussion about this at the board meeting last night? This must come to fruition and reality is, with a little hard work taxes can be reduced 25%. On average 80,000 home taxes can be reduced $350-$400.00 annually. This will attract businesses, not pizza parties.

Trump is on target. Give new business as well as present business "REAL" tax breaks. Restrain the over zealous tactics that deter people from wanting to pass through the community certainly with the alleged complaint calls they can find better use of their time. Continue to work towards consolidation and this Village Board may just be able to slow the years of bleeding. Passing the hat to pay for the pizza sounds like a plan?

Gotta agree with both comments, but leaning towards Escapee more so. I too, avoid "the armpit of America" every time I can. Even willing to spend .50 cents to take the thruway just to go to the reservation. God forbid you go thru that village with so much as a bulb out. The Village court will max you on your fine and its almost certain there will either be a roadcheck set-up or they will be in one of their "secret squirrel spots" hitting you with radar as you enter. But then again, if your one of the "good Ol' Boys", you don't have a thing to worry about.

WAKE UP! Only way to attract businesses into town is marketing Village. First order, cut taxes! No one in their right mind will invest in highest taxed entity. May I stand to be corrected, but hasn't the IDA been working with the Village for years? I remember the IDA work to move Rem-Tronics to Dunkirk a couple years ago. I'm ecstatic to hear Mr. Pearl is anxious to have "pizza" on the taxpayers dime!

With the Silver Creek Police Department out trying to find a reason to write me a traffic ticket, and a traffic court system designed to siphon money out of my pockets; I’ve come to avoid Silver Creek, especially avoiding stopping at any businesses, whenever possible. I’ve found I can get most everything I need from an alternate merchant.
