there was a time when Ralcorp first bought the two local plant to combine them into one industrial park, talk was it was to be on the progress park site if they could get the state to clean up the site, as for the new owners they are impressed with the Dunkirk site, we could never under stand why Ralcorp choose to close Dunkirk, and keep running the albatross Fredonia plant, we have heard that the Dunkirk plant will be put back into operation but have no information on time line it may have to do with the completion of the new park way, seeing that the area will become more comical, they might look in expansion along the parkway route

Rumor has it that Con-Agra is thinking about moving the peanut butter operation to Dunkirk in stead of Kentucky. Any one else hear this? If it's true some more jobs will be saved.

I wonder why Carriage House wwould close the Dunkirk plant? We have access to Lake Erie water. An upgraded sewage facility to handle their waste. What could be the reason? Could it be that Dunkirk charges to much for its water and sewage rates? Na that can't be it. Could it be the tax rate? Never. The reason for the closing is a mystery to me. Anyone have any ideas?
