There should be no increase. Scudder is right. The economy has been stagnant. The last few years have seen little or no increase in inflation or cost of living. Social Security and other pensions saw no increase for several years until the recent munificent 1.7 % increase. These are National indicators of the economy. Certainly there is NO room for a merit increase for any elected or appointed denizen of Mayville.

Carla, how sad . A knee jerk partisan reaction. No one member of the committee cast the deciding vote. The outcome would be the same, recusal or not. Power, what power?? One freshman legislator with no influence... One Mayor with no vote. If there is so much power in District 4 why isn't your party offering a candidate?

At last Scudder does the smart thing. Yes Keefe should have recused himself. Given the times all salaries should have remained the same. No increase for any position.

No, Mr. Mayor Steven Keefe, it was something much worse than politics! You knew you wife would be running for legislature in District4!! This man should have recused himself and resigned from the committee because of a conflict of interest. Why on Earth would the people in Fredonia's District 4 want one family to have so much power and control?? This is just plain wrong.
