Village Board sure does put the "fun" in dysfunctional!! Every village needs a village idiot or two or three, but to put them in charge is usually a mistake.

Oh my goodness Ron Lineman and his wife! They are the reason why the village had to spend that money!!!! Is they're memory that bad? This was just one of the several frivolous lawsuits that Ron and his wife had against the village, which cost the taxpayers alot of money. Maybe they could have used that money to fix Bennett State Road with. How odd that Ron would complain about about the spending of the money when he created the mess in the first place. What's even worse is the bridge that he is talking about in only in 5% of the village bounderies the rest is in the Town of Hanover. Did they sue them too? He needs to stop spending the taxpayer money. I think he has a few other things wrong in this artical too, Ron get your facts straight! You are making youself and the board look worse and worse every second, and I didn't know was possiable.

"It is the duplication of services and over-abundance of local governments that is killing the economy of Chautauqua County."

Yet you offer absolutely no proof that consolidating services will result in any substantial savings on tax bills.

I'm all in favor of consolidating if it makes fiscal sense. Randolph just went through this a couple years ago and saved taxpayers outside the village a tiny 4% and those in the former village saw no reduction at all. If Forestville has got inept officials and no prospects of finding someone whom is good - dissolve for that reason and move on.

Last May my Creek Road home was creamed by a small SUV, then condemned by the town engineer. After much prayer and consideration of the pros and cons, we sold the damaged house and moved on. Thank God. 20 years of never being able to use a hose for gardens or washing our own car was more than enough and the town water issues are obviously the tip of the iceberg. I'm grateful we were able to leave before this further debacle. I'm so sorry for the neighbors left behind.

something you look at everyone else to answer. What about everyone mowing the village do you have insurance on them? I think one of them has already sued the village a couple of times! Wake up residents and fight for your village.Lets get this board and mayor OUT!!!!!

changeweneed- hope you are happy with the change. Do you people realize if we dissolve the village what happens? The fire dept will be gone, your water will be done you will all have to drill wells and then what happens to the school? I do believe if we keep this mayor and the board yes it would be better to loose everything but WHY not get rid of this board and mayor! The damage that has been done since they took over. Shutting our water down on Creek Road? I've had village water and now you are going to tell me I have to drill a well. Talk about a mess! Have you shut off the people that don't pay there water bills yet? Mrs Auries you thought it was so easy didn't you, you have no clue to what to do and when are you going to tell people how much the water is going to go up. You used to want the residents to talk at the meetings and get there input and now everything has to be on paper and you won't address them at the meetings. The clerk does all the talking at meetings. When asked

Forestville has it right. All 27 towns, 15 villages and 2 cities should dissolve their governments in favor of one centralized government at the county level. It is the duplication of services and over-abundance of local governments that is killing the economy of Chautauqua County. If Forestville stays on this course they will be leading the way for the rest of the county into a new era of growth and prosperity.
