Why do we waste hundreds of thousands of dollars each year on salaries and millions over the years of HUD money on a departmnt that shows no results? Taxpayers deserve some answers to the questions raised by State Comptroller DiNapoli. We want to know who authorized over $6,000 in bonus payments to the DLDC chairman and treasurer. We want to know who authorized the purchase of a former car dealership and a vacant building for more than $500,000. We want to know who authorized the repeated expenditure of funds to unqulified recipients. We want to know if restitution is required will taxpayers be left holding the bag and finally we want to know if the parties responsible for illegal activity will be held liable for their actions.
