It's pretty bad when even the Chautauqua County District Attorney is worried about his taxes going up.

When will it end.

Th hole system of property assessments is a bad joke, designed by govrnment to get their hands into your pockets. The value of a person's property does not reflect a person's ability to support government. Certainly, a young couple wit a big mortgage is not wealthy and neither is a retired person that has lost half of their income. Equilization rates are nothing but an educated guess. The system stinks and needs t be scrapped in favor of a county sales tax with income distributed on a per capita basis.
