The Dunkirk teachers probably saw a potential detroit in dunkirk.Labor building america ? Hardly, someone told them what to do first.Any person , thats you, liberals who is not the least bit scared that the detroit phenomena is heading here must be insane. some feel ,as posters here indicate that detroit is a success and taxing your way to prosperity is possible. All possible by the govt employee !

I also believe that whenever a small community like ours joins together for a good cause, it reminds us how special living here can be. However, let's keep it real, too. If special interest groups and/or individuals wouldn't be adversely affected (directly or indirectly) by the potential shutdown of NRG, I dare say more than half of them would NOT have shown up.

Where was the DTA, or any other org, when the CCH needed its support? Do such groups ever show up in large numbers to support fund raisers to help local cancer patients? Do they ever display their unity by attending home/away sporting events in support of our local athletes? And finally, will they ever step up and provide tax relief to poor communities like ours that desperately need it by "offering" CBA modifications?

people. If losing NRG is going to cause the loss of 58 teaching positions then why are these positions filled now? You will notice I hope that Cerney did not say any administration positions will be lost. Nor did he say any sports programs will be shut down. What is going on is that Cerney is playing to the sympathy of the teachers and the public. He knows full well that if 58 positions were lost his pay would be reduced. One person cannot make as much noise as 58. So you see it is all smoke and mirrors. Also, no mention was made of voluntary pay cuts in lieu of layoffs. Don't be duped by individuals who only have their best interest at heart.
