Fredonia doesn't have the resources to maintain its water flow, their businesses that need water have to shut down periodically due to a lack of water. There's nothing like extending a olive branch to work together and have it shoved up your behind!Either we work together or we all wither and die on the vine unless some major jobs comes to the area soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After last summers fiasco with unknowingly getting water from Dunkirk and then contracting to supply Pomfret this arrogant move will come back and bite them in the ***. Let them go and move on without their help it is only a matter of time before a drought strikes again. Also once a large district is in place their chance of getting grant money to upgrade their water plant shrinks drastically!

Agreed,Fredonia should be both careful and thoughtful. Their system is a valuable asset and it is proper for the the Trustees to want to protect their interests. But they should also carefully consider the millions of dollars needed to correct the deferred maintenance to their system, much needed upgrades to the filtration plant, the cost of necessary additional storage, the inadequate supply during droughts, and the fact that the spillway have been judged by the DEC to be "seriously inadequate" and the**** assessed as "unsafe, non-emergency". Sometimes going it alone can be a rough road especially if regulatory agencies begin to refocus their energy on Fredonia's water system issues.

You are all full of it. Say what you want at this point in time everything is a guesstament. Tampio is full of too! Good for Fredonia. They preferred to work on their budget.....well shame on them. Say what you want Fredonia is the best community to live in in this area. Save the comments no one cares. Ask Silver Creek how it worked out for them.

We shouldn't expect anything more from a village with closed-minded officals with no vision for the future and controlled by a man like Cerrie.

I don't know what the Mayor was talking about but from the information I have - no one has ever said the district will buy water from Erie, PA - I've heard the opposite that maybe in the future Erie, PA will buy water from the North county district.

"Keefe also said he is uncomfortable with the eventual long-term plan of the water district, which he interpreted as getting all the region's water from Erie County, Pa., and closing down all water manufacturing in Chautauqua County."

So now the long term plan is to pump water from Erie County Pa. Wow when was that little info going to come out. Not to mention the millions needed to spend to upgrade Dunkirks plant for the short term plus the already incurred debt. Tell me where will the savings and cheaper water will be? Water from out of State is the long term goal, hats off to Fredonia for saying no.

we are not surprised, when have the Hatfields and Mccoys ever agreed on anything, the feud lives on and people believe that the village and city will someday share services not likely anytime soon
