Nice job DPD for sure BUT Observer....why do we always have to hear/read about stuff like this way after the fact and then it's classified as "BREAKING NEWS" I understand it was too late for the Sunday paper BUT surely it could make Monday"s. Doesn't anybody look at police blotters? God how I miss Phil McGan & Bill Dill...those were the Observers better days!!!

Nice job DPD. I don't know how the police restrain themselves at times like these. I would probably be the court, jury, judge and executioner in this instance. Glad I am not in law enforcement.

Idiots never learn until it is to late. Cops showed more restraint then they should have.

DKexpat, I agree. He is incredibly lucky to be alive. If he were down south, he would have been shot on a heartbeat.

Forgot to add...the county DA did an investigation, and said that was "reasonable force."

He’s lucky he’s alive. Local to me, an (unstable) woman who passed out food samples at a Costco got upset when she ran out of pizza, and ran down the aisle at 5 sheriff’s deputies with a pair of scissors. The Taser didn’t work, and 5 shots later she was dead.

Geeze, this reminds me of that old joke about a guy bringing a knife to a gunfight! Anyway, glad nobody got hurt and the crook was caught before he escalated to worse crimes. Sounds like a good job by the PD, textbook.
