Today, Labor Day, by tradition has become an occasion for Americans to recognize the importance of hard work and, yes, to pat ourselves on the back....

judeye, you got the RR thing wrong. here the Federal govt got its money prior to income tax wrong. Where the inventions arose from wrong. Gun control wrong. Crime and who does it wrong. women and science wrong. the list is almost endless. All wrong. How do reconcile that with reality ? I mean being wrong on so many issues. That is called a perception problem. Women in general have them more then men, fact.women say so themselves. Posting beliefs that are contrary to what actually is sounds like or is a mental issue. yet chrisotpher says he is concerned about me. I know science inside and out. You only parrot. Christopher thinks he knows ,but actually does not. there is definatly something wrong in the mind of a liberal. All their posts prove it.

christopher, you should be worried about yourself. Yes! You support a party that has caused so much social damage and you dislike repubs or robber barrons? Here is a list of the damage your beloved democrats did. Civil war, a million dead and wounded. South set back a century. , KKK, Jim crow, segregation, city busting riots, great depression, black family destroyed.to deny this is delusional. You are OK with that ? I am very well read, unlike most of the posters here. they cant be if they actually believe what they write. tell me where i am wrong on this. You are like judeye, always shouting the great deeds of govt for life. No it was the other way around. Private enterprise did it under a very limited govt. Amazing how you and judeye miss that all the time.

hey judeye, making assumptions about people in view of the facts of their lives is a good thing. You stay alive that way. Afraid of certain groups of people? You betcha . I have friends in the city. they tell me horror stories. they are afraid or at the least concerned. You on the other hands are so naive .Why are you afraid of guns then ? Most of the guns are legal, it is the libs in the city that do most of the killing . Yet you want gun control. judeye, how can you be so ill informed or just plain ignorant of most everything ? Black people on tv weep over the violence and we are supposed to be not concerned or afraid. Tell us how judeye.

bulldog10...Well Martin was wrong that Zimmerman was a white cracker gay rapist.

And Martin got it wrong that Martin was a kid looking for a house to rob.

Making assumptions about others, especially when those assumptions are based on FEAR, can have tragic consequences as we have witnessed in this case.

Maybe it it time we stop all being so afraid of each other.

I don't go to funerals of people I don't know, period, no exceptions. Anyway, good answer when there is none.

Christopher your remarks show your total ignorance and I will not argue with you nor further dignify your less than intelligent statements with a reply. I will ask this however, why were you not at the funeral for Sgt Manzella yesterday?

Oh, and Joew, I'm a little surprised you had nothing to say about the death of Sergeant Darren Manzella, a local hero who was recently killed. One of our local idiots made a horrible statement about his death, and I was one of the few who defended him, the rest of course blindly attacked me, not seeing the irony of that despite the fact I was standing up for a soldier, a Medic at that, one of the most revered positions in the Military, as you (should) know, someone who showed GREAT integrity at the expense of his own career, but helping all that follow. Curious about that. As for medals Joe, read a bit. They're becoming a bit of a joke, and it's a dirty shame for those who actually earned them, like the local clown who walks around with an Airborne hat because "they went in together". And he's not ashamed when he wears it either.

Sorry Joew, but I have never, ever seen you go against any Military adventure, not ever, especially if a Republican is behind it. Since soldiers DIE IN THOSE THINGS, blind support shows a little less than a caring attitude about soldiers. Me, I love them, so I want to keep as many as possible healthy and alive, and yes, they signed on the dotted line, but that ought to be limited to defending THIS country, not oil wells or for "regime change". I might add, that Steiner supports each and every one of your posts. I'd be worried about that. You weren't too worried about that "propeller beanie", so why should I worry about my remarks towards you? Some levity intended, but most spot on.

and for people like judeye, std oil became great before the auto.cars sank the RRs. Gasoline was a by product. Then the great organic chemists got in the fray and behold, the world we know today and need was born. All done without that dumb govt which was shaken to its core by the value of oil. I love chemists as i am one.so please unlearned libs. try going back to natural fibers, it is impossible. the natural fibers were of great help to the chemists. Hey judeye, the japanese, ever poised to surrender in ww2 made carothers invent nylon as silk became short in supply.Nature is one great vast chemical plant. the chemists just took it further. plants make styrene and ethylene. Golly i love chemistry and the great chemists. they made me what i am today. Bipolar if you believe christopher !so keep buying my stuff in the store OK ?

Your biography of me is far from the truth Mr Christopher with the exception that yes I do draw a pension based on my 28 years active duty. Saying I support those in uniform dying needlessly boils my blood Mr Christopher! Please do not use the term "Medal of Honor" in that blasphemous context Mr Christopher, that should be well beneath you(I hope)!!!!!

hey christopher, followers of mohammed ,in early islam killed many israelis because they were trading or talking to mohameds enemies.even islamic scholars today said that put a bitter taste in the israelis to this day. This was long before the crusades, oil or even george bush. facts from PBS. The brits recognized the value of oil like Joihn Rockefeller did, even if the libs are clueless on that value, and made the mideast we have to this day. the killing goes on and on. dont join the armed forces if you dont like it. Leave it to the pilot i saw on PBS who just wants to go drop a bomb somewhere over there. Those are the guys we need. not people like you christopher who dont see the value of all those hydrocarbons the world needs. just feel good nonsense.everything i ever did kaputs without hydrocarbons and chemists. private chemists made the world, they started at STD oil. Churchill saw their value. you libs like wilson did not.amazing aint it ? the libs deny what is !

christopher, how ignorant can you be ? Soldiers dying needlessly? It is a volunteer army, but the libs always threaten the draft agian and again. you have to believe that at least somewhere, sometime, someone in the armed forces is gonna get shot at. The mideast wars not of value ? You are clueless then to history of the west vs the east, not to mention the huge oil reserves there.the world runs on hydrocarbons and heat. The libs dont seem to know that. trillions have been invested in it. green energy and renewables can never , ever take the place of the heat value in a gallon of gasoline. paul, try and learn ehat makes the world work. I have posted numerous posts on what that actually is only to be ignored or better, by the stupid libs, we need green energy !

christopher, you are not blameless. you have called learned people like myself bipolar and mentally ill for quoting fact after fact.all the while buying my stuff in the store. My posts are said to be lacking historical context al the while loaded with it. you have to justify and you have not why the govt insists on making people stupid, yes stupid in the mandatory public education system. follow the money christopher and it leads right to the liberal teacher unions. Fact paul. please paul, get the facts, private minds built america, libs like you and the others are wrecking it. The money is flowing overseas, just like Wilson said it would. The business men are clever people. They protect their interest.

Marcia, Joew is the kind of person who worships all in uniform, even the bad ones, and supports soldiers dying needlessly without the intelligence to see that as NOT CARING for those in uniform. He's on a government pension, yet hates pensions. He was a government employee paid by tax dollars yet hates public employees. Like teachers on pensions who hate unionized private employees, it's a classic case of talking from both sides of ones mouth. He'll never see it that way, of course, as he holds the Basic training Medal of Honor.

judeye, the pacific acts were later in the scheme, after the tom thumb locomotive. The south actually banned steam as motive power. They prefered animals and slave power. green energy ,judeye, yes, like you today.so the libs like judeye, christopher etc, cannot recognize the value of any invention, other than that of more govt. Thats not how america became great. obama hates pipelines too, no strategic thinking there either. You liberals have got to be the most ignorant people on the planet. You dont recognize science for what it does and how it shaped our lives. It was most certainly not the govt, not the unions and especially not the public employee unions who gave us what we have. it was private enterprise and white male inventors. the early telegraph wire was wound 10 miles inside a barn to see if signal would go that far.repeaters were invented as the signal died. Large at first and then much smaller. the first transatlantic phone call not until 1915. private invention libs

Mr. Murgatroyd, as a retired teacher, you should know at least a little bit about "context". I've been harassed many times for standing up for my beliefs. I've received hate mail, phone calls, and even comments in public. That's ok, I'll put up with that. "Safer", in the context I used it, means "cowardly", or "sniping", that sort of thing. And yes, that is how I feel about the majority of anonymous posters on here and in other forums. None of them would ever say the ridiculous things they say if they had to put their name to it. If the Observer set their format up where people had to use verified real names on here, most of the posters would disappear. Mr. Murgatroyd is desperately trying to make some stupid legal point going back to an earlier discussion on Trayvon Martin. Why? Because he's a coward who likes to provoke than run for help and cover. People like that always hate those with the nerve to stand up for themselves, but hate themselve

the learned libs like judeye get it wrong again. the railroads started in America with the tom thumb locomotive by peter cooper, the glue guy. The federal govt saw the need for RRs and their telegraph lines later. Both are private inventions , like the phone that the govt regulates. Our money says judeye, wrong as usual. The federal govt before the income tax, sacred to the dumb liberals was financed by tariffs. Not domestic revenue. wrong again judeye. it is apparent that the libs are either totally ignorant, bordering on stupid, moronic about the true nature of how we got what. Now judeye , your sacred democrats in the antebellum south had very few RR miles. when Shermans hairpins devastated the south , the civil war was lost. How is it libs you cannot grasp anything strategic, deny what was and is and think you are correct ?

Some comments are teasing, but others cross the line. I agree with you Marcia. Paul already commented he would strike someone like Martin did if he felt threatened by someone like Zimmerman. Well Martin was wrong that Zimmerman was a white cracker gay rapist. Just because you think its right doesn't make it legal.

Is all I am saying is why would someone say do whatever you think is safer unless they were going to do something to the person. No big deal.
