In the cities and villages the bus stops still go by blocks if the drivers pay attention. Along busy highways they do stop at each couple houses because the children shouldn't be walking along a busy highway. The drivers also pull over to let traffic build up behind them get by but then the commenter doesn't mention that part of the statement. Sounds like he feels that the only important person on the road is him.

There was a time when kids had to congregate at specific corners in town to be picked up by the buses. Now the cheese boxes stop at every child's front lawn. That's why drivers get aggravated and will skirt the law as close as possible to get around a school bus. It's annoying. I can handle stopping every mile or so, but every 20 seconds? Give me a break.

What I find strange is why the speed limit through the CCA zone is still 30MPH. Doesn't make sense?

I find it amazing that supposed"experience" drivers don't realize they have to stop in both directions when the bus's RED lights are flashing. Also the Idiots that get road rage waiting on busses to drop off or pick up their most precious cargo.Or the morons who don't the School Zone doesn't apply to them...

Agree. The life you save might be your own child's...

Had a case here last year where a young woman – multiple times, caught on camera – would hop the curb and drive down the sidewalk (right in front of building entrances) to go around a stopped school bus.

After her arrest, she expressed surprise. (I think the driver’s test should include an IQ test.)
