The synopsis of Fat Uncle Fester Reed's intellect, acumen and acuity: good, good, not good, maybe, good, not good, not good and good.

And all those T-ball (notably not even softball in any way...) questions from the clueless church lady gaggle OBSERVER team...wow, what a combo.

All that was missing from this Happy Meal was a syrupy sweet soda and a toy prize!

Why has he voted time and time (42 times in fact) to repeal the ACA? Why did he just vote to take funding away from this ACT.which by the way was PASSED by our congress...signed by our President....challenged and then ruled CONSTITUTIONAL by our Supreme Court..and on which we just had a presidential election in which this was one of the central issues..and the man supporting the law...WON.

What a slap in the face to every one of us who still believes in our system of government. we now have elected people turning their backs on our system of democracy and how we make and amend laws.

Is he willing to shut down our entire government because he does not agree with a law? A law that many of us BENEFIT from by providing health insurance to millions, eliminating life time limits, forcing more spending on patient care, expanding coverage to adult children and giving access to health insurance even if one has a pre existing condition.

Shame on you Rep Reed

"deficits, as a percentage of gross domestic product, fell from 10.1 percent in 2009 to 7 percent in 2012. (See Table 1.2.) That’s a 3.1 percentage point drop, and the last time the U.S. saw a larger drop over an equivalent period of time was 1946 to 1949, when the deficit went from 7.2 percent of GDP to a surplus of 0.2 percent of GDP (a change of 7.4 percentage points)"

Rep Reed...are you aware of this or do you promote misleading information on purpose? Our deficit is FALLING!! NOT INCREASING.

As for social security, why not increase the income threshold for contributions? Right now it is at about $110,000. People making more than that do not pay more than those at this top level. thanks to this paper...we all know that MANY people even in our local area make much more than $110,000 a year. Why not make them pay the same percentage as those making less than that amount.

Easy fix.

Well Judeye the majority of Americans oppose Obamacare. No one knew what was in it.You of course remember what Ms Pelosi said don't you? Now the effects are being felt as in for example the Cleveland clinic cuts, the very place the President spoke at.You do remember that don't you? Now people are losing full time employment and the very unions that supported the President and poured millions into his re-election campaign are screaming bloody murder. Maybe that's a couple of reasons huh? Isn't your elected representative supposed to do the will of the electorate?

Judeye if all is as rosy as you say,why is it we need to increase the debt ceiling? We(our Washington bankers) are on track to to gather in almost 2.7 Trillion dollars this year which will be a new record! But again we will have deficit spending! Why is that? Rep Reed was speaking about the abuse regarding Social Security disability which is rampant! Try reading a little closer and more importantly understanding what was posted.

Re: the ACA:

A package so brilliant, Congress exempted themselves from having to get anywhere near participating in it.

The reality is that we will not see a rebirth of manufacturing until and unless the area becomes much more business friendly. It is necessary to reduce the size and cost of government. Maybe the governor should extend his zero taxes for ten years program as an incentive for existing businesseas to expand operations.

Fat Uncle Fester lost 45 lbs NOT by himself through diet and exercise but by a 100% taxpayer-paid lap-band surgery.

He's the personification of a GOP/RW/TPer lazy hypocrite: He votes against food stamps while he can't seem to push himself away from the dinner table AND he votes down Obamacare, for tens of millions who don't have health insurance, while he ponys up to the hospital for free surgery and health care.

Given your amphibian mind Toadeeewww, small wonder you can't begin to grasp such complexities as irony...

DC Ron XXX:Food stamps for those that are able bodied should be gained AFTER proving that you are looking for work,in a program to get the skills to find work and after a drug test.If ACA stays the "law of the land" ALL should have to suffer...er, I mean benefit from this fine program, the prez and his family on down.

Vicious and vile name calling accomplishes nothing. Actually it makes those who do it look desperate. Socialism......we're trying it, it's failing.....time to jump off a sinking ship. It's hard but we have no choice.
