Indeed the Ogden monopoly is bad for our County. All media monopolies, whether they be Defaco or not, instinctively provide poorer service and a one sided point of view at an inflated price.

Three problems associated with a market controlled totally by a single firm are: (1) inefficiency, (2) inequity (3) political abuse. One need only read a single copy to see the Observer excels at all three! If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck and smells like a duck… well… it just might be a duck!

" Apparently in the 1930s voters realized the value of coming together. If only residents of local school districts had as much foresight today."

The same could be said of the clueless church lady gaggle OBSERVER --- why on earth does this county need the OBSERVER, the POST JOURNAL and Westfield Republican, which are all Ogden properties? The merger/consolidation agument could be used on all of them as well...but of course, we don't hear a thing about that..."do as we say, not as we do..."

Typical, typical typical OBSERVER nonsense.
