"Ripley did not vote down a merger with Westfield. Ripley approved it and Westfield voted it down. Ripley did vote down annexation to Westfield, probably 20 years ago." Wasn't sure, remembered something. Annexation would have been a good deal for everybody, I'd say. One school, larger tax base, etc., etc. Oh well, nobody wants to lose what they are or have, even when it's bankrupting them.

bulldog has it right Ripley does not need a full time superintendent of it's own this is raping the taxpayer! If Ripley taxpayers don't protest this they deserve all the increased taxes they get!

Maybe the law says every school has to have a superintendent, BUT they could share a superintendent with anyone. Like Sherman, Clymer, Westfield, Brocton, Chaut lake. In fact that would be a good idea, since the 9-12 kids go to Chaut lake why not have the Chaut lake Supt do the Ripley Superintendent job also.

But wait a minute, backtracking a bit, didn't Ripley vote down a merger with Westfield before the Brocton fiasco took place? I'm pretty sure that THAT time Westfield voted yes and Ripley no.

Commentator, check out state education LAW. Every district is required to have a superintendent. We may not like it, but that's the law at this point. And, WHY would Ripley want to bother with Westfield after they just dumped Brocton? Waste of time.

Students are tuitioned out but let's have a superintendent. What is the salary for this position? This school needs to close. Ripely taxpayers should be up in arms.

She was all for the Westfield-Brocton merger. She even spoke about it at meetings. I think her plan was to get a job at the new combined Westfield-Brocton district, didn't happen so she had to settle for second best and take the position at Ripley.

Dr. Lauren Ormsby is quoted as saying she just loves the Ripley community. Really, is that why you purchased a house in Westfield???

This is the first district that ought to go. Westfield is calling!
