Unfair policy not for the birds

July 25, 2014

It is illegal to kill certain endangered animals, including golden eagles. If you get caught doing so, even accidentally, the federal government will punish you with stiff fines....

Steiner, I can't remember the source, it may have been some sort of "social economist" or some such, but I recall his admonishment on how to avoid eternal poverty, and all that comes of it. His advice was on three points, #1. Obtain not less than a High School Education, #2. Bear no children out of wedlock,#3#. Bear no children before age twenty one. His observation was that those who abided by those tenants stood a better chance of at least keeping their economic and social heads above water than those who don't. Not that they wouldn't experience occasional hard times of course, but rather that such family units would, generally speaking, better have the resiliency to successfully weather t storms than those which didn't adhere. Obviously, ignoring one or more of the core values (ie. no mate for support) increases the odds of failure, as is in the case of eagles rearing their young.

so i have provided facts against judeys myth. from PBS, more women on diversity etc. . It was sponsored by a group that wanted to eliminate dangerous chemicals. sounds just great eh posters ? guess what ? Dangerous chemicals are nearly all of petrochem. Almost everything you buy in plastic form started out as a dangerous, flammable carcinogenic base. so if we listened to the gals like judeye we wil be back in the stone age. i guess they missed on PBS, Fritz habers work, poisonous chemicals formed the basis of chemotherapy. see why gals only make 77c on a dollar ? Many of them aint all there, like judeye !

hey KC, if your eagle post is correct than we can make a really great conclusion. Minority out of wedlock births have sky rocketed. So have their incarceration rates and death rates. so in america the eagle is protected better than a family and these same people vote democratic ! see why i call liberals stupid ? They are ! Hey solar guy, i have a fluke 43B power quality analyzer. so i know that my well pump draws for about .2 seconds, 78 amps @120V to start. I cant have anything else on except maybe a light bulb as the system will shut down. I figure I would need at least 25 of those deep cycle batteries to be a little closer to the power grid. now from National grid, with my electric house, I can have the dryer on, the oven and a few electric burners on and the well pump will still start. you aint doing that on solar buddy. you would need 100 batteries or something close to a diesel electric sub. see why green was abandoned early in US history ? It does not work !

Understand too that the successful rearing of eaglets requires the efforts of both parents. Some other bird species have similar requirements. If one parent is removed at any time between when their eggs are first laid and until some time after the young fledge (in the case of eagles about two months after they 1st fly) the chances of the young eagles surviving to independence are somewhere between none and unlikely. In other words, the death of one member of mated pair during the nesting/rearing process also means the additional demise of the dependent young, on average that would be two little one).

christopher, joew is correct. there is a difference between a ghetto and a slum. A ghetto is a ethnic thing. A slum is poverty. for a good example, see history of american people by paul johnson, p663 -4 it tells of how Harlem was transformed from a dutch thing into a , well democratic blunder. a subway intended to get more affluent whites into harlem backfired .less wealthy democrats moved in and the rest is history. We could say the same thing about detroit. the affluent people moved out and the poorer people took over with disasterous results. or what happened to buffalo in the 60s after the desegregation order.

nathan, you would be better of buying gold than solar panels. you made a mistake. tell us how many watts the system makes or do you have a battery back up.i hear all these savings but I never hear how many watts the system produces or how many kilowatt hours you get. I did see on PBS a system roof top in the SW making 50 watts , yes ! there was some clouds. 50 watts aint enough for a light bulb or so.i made a battery back up system for my house cuz of frequent power outages. I had to get 13 deep cylce lead acid batteries to start my well pump. If had that running i could hardly run anything else. it was like green acres and the douglas generator. you had to measure the load. too much and the inverter trips out cuz of low battery voltage.

judey, simply put you have no facts. just hysteria. you know nothing at all. i have posted a litany of facts and you ignore all of them . The fact is 1932 was declared the hottest year. the fact people were fudging the numbers. yep, look that up. So if 1932 was the hottest year and the level of co2 has increased and the temps have not then your beloved theory is junk. It was and always will be junk.i quoted analytical chemistry, you ignored that. analytical chemistry, the science behind forensics and you ignored that. everything factual judeye ignores . she is mentallty ill folks. i have NEVER seen one so stupid as judeye !

more for stupid judeye, we use 18 million barrels of oil a day,70 billion cubic feet a day of natural gas . a billion tons a coal a year. so stupid judeye, there is absolutley NO way that so called green energy can offset this. the US was green energy til 1865. fact, forests disappearing. whale almost extinct. all facts , all verifiable and stupid judeye ignores them .green energy was tried and found wanting stupid judey. this is science judeye, not your hysterical nonsense , conversion disorder you have.you NEVER answer any of this so i assume you know nothing at all about energy and industry. What woman does ? certainly not you or the LWV.

utterly stupid judeye is at it again. let me make it plain for the stupid one. burning yields carbon dioxide and water vapor. fact , not foxnews. Lets say CO2 had the same amount of heat trapping capability as water does, it dont but let say it does. so the level of co2 is .04% in the air versus the 4% level of water vapor in the desert. the water level in a desert,at 4% is 100 times greater than the level of co2. the tiny amount of co2 is overwhelmed , masked by the water vapor level. In moister areas, say 40% humidity it is 1000 times greater. at 75% humidity the water is 1875 times greater. poor stupid judye just cant see this. if the heat trapping capability of co2 was equal to water it would be like adding more water to the air ! judey is so stupid, so liberal she just can grasp the obvious here. we are adding water to the air all the time stupid judeye.

I looked up an off-grid solar electric power system for my house. I use 1432 on average a month (the lowest was 818 the highest was 2200)... the system will cost me $25,000 + installation and maintenance... probably 3k additional. It will save me $1,700 a year in electric costs, assuming that I don't need to go on the grid (which I will do to AC in the south). It will take me at least 16.5 years to make that investment back...

I am okay with a few protected and nearly extinct birds dying so that I can have power for my computer and converse with y'all in WNY. Also, I think fracking is okay... then again, I am a free thinking scientist who does environmental management and understands that humans have an energy need.

Hey PC seeing how your rants are the first on this article I take it what ever joew said occurred on another post so the only mud I saw came from you! Kind of like your comments about the bar fight read the news why he was charged the way he was he did throw the victim down a flight of stairs "from the top". Your comments lately seem hostel even before anyone else comments you are deteriorating rapidly.

"ghetto definition 1.A section of a city occupied by a minority group who live there especially because of social, economic, or legal pressure.

2.An often walled quarter in a European city to which Jews were restricted beginning in the Middle Ages.

slum definition 1. Often, slums. a thickly populated, run-down, squalid part of a city, inhabited by poor people.

2. any squalid, run-down place to live. "

The difference between ghettos and slums is very significant. A slum is a particular part of the city where people live who have low-incomes and suffer from social, legal, or economic pressure. A ghetto is also a poor area of the city where people of a specific ethnic group do not feel comfortable living with the country's customs or language; therefore living with other people of their own ethnic background. Pretty clear huh? Now can we play the riddle game game again paulie: staring straight ahead, looking down etc? I'm usually pretty good at solving riddles but I must admit you got me on those two. Could you share with me and our audience the solution? Thanks paulie. Now off to the harbor again to do some fishing, bye bye!

PC: it's NOT about any particular issue you write about (like one poster noted, they'll disagree w/you if you said ice cream tastes good). It's about you, NOT the basis for an opinion you have on any given subject, or any facts you can easily provide to back it up.

I've said many times that joew has mental issues. From what I've read, it sounds like he suffers from NPR (narcissistic personality disorder), and the more he posts, the more I'm convinced of it.

"The mud is flying early today." I'm sorry concernie. Funny, where are your comments in that regard when Joey goes after every single post I make? Ah, that's ok then? He did refer to my neighborhood as a ghetto, which to ANY normal person means a slum, then nit picks and says he didn't. The references to "da clubs" is clearly a sign of bias and an ethnic stereotype, and he accuses me of criminal activities as well. (He'll deny that as well)Any other points of concern?

Here's some irony for you. If you, as landowner, happen to discover that eagles have established a nest on your "back forty" (a number of new nests have indeed been established locally in the past several years), federal and state laws dictate a boundary around the nest site, inside which you may not conduct certain activity (logging, road building, land clearing etc.) for as long as the nest is maintained. You receive NO compensation for the loss of the use of your property in such cases. On the other hand, somebody can now put up a line huge windmills on the next ridge over and chop up an unlimited number of birds of any and all species , including the very bald headed "tenants" that call your trees "home", with impunity!

Do I recall correctly that the cost of producing electric from windmills is about 400% greater than current sources? One way or another someone's going to pay those rates, subsidized or directly. Understand too that windmill construction is by no means yet built out. Depending on what you read, there may be what, 10 or 20 times more of them before they're done? How many more birds will all those slice up? Adding to that, there still the expense of having a conventional/traditional system of substantial size on standby in the event that major sections of the nation are becalmed. We'll constantly be paying for that backup in our electric bills every month (sort of a "pay or take" arrangement) , whether the "ON" switch gets thrown or not.

I agree with GeorgeB67 on this and others relative to the BS about Windmills. They do NOT produce economically feasible energy. I'm frankly shocked that so-called environmentalists could support these monstrosities! They're ugly blights on the landscape, whether they kill birds or not. (They do) How do the same exact people who fought the design of the "Signature bridge" to Canada due to birds maybe flying into wires, support moving blades! Unbelievable.
