Elma M. Meek

She was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Salamanca, the daughter of Frank and Rhoda Bundy Meek.

She had been employed by the Pepsi Bottling Co. in Olean, retiring in 1984. She had also been employed by Bush Brothers in Little Valley and the former Jamestown Table Co. in Salamanca. She was a lifetime member of the Salvation Army, serving as a soldier for more than 65 years.

She enjoyed spending time with family, neighbors and friends She also enjoyed reading her Bible. She cared for her disabled mother for several years.

She is survived by three sisters: Lillian Wdowiasz of Fredonia, Alta Fox of Springville and Helen Moore of Olean; and a brother, Hershel Meek of Nashville, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Evelyn Sluga, Onalee Rice and Leona Porter; and three brothers: Russell, Floyd and Charles Rowland.

The funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday in the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home. Capt. John Cornelius of Salvation Army of Elmira will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
