He was a graduate of Conestoga Valley High School in Pequea, Pa. He was chief operations officer and logistics and services manager of Ultra Services/Irex of Baghdad. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the intelligence department as a linguist. He attended First Baptist Church, Gap, Pa.
Besides he mother of New Holland, Pa., and his father of Russia, formerly of Warren; he is survived by a son, Anthony Ames of Pasadena, Md.; a daughter, Brittany Joi of Pasadena; five brothers: Nicholas P. Manelick of Los Angeles, Jarod Welk of New Holland, Dana August, David Austin and David Alexander Manelick, all of Palmer, Alaska; two sisters: Lauren Welk of New Holland, Elizabeth Autumn Manelick of Palmer; his maternal grandfather, Nicholas Manelick of Russia; and his stepfather, Larry Welk of New Holland.
A memorial service was held Dec. 22 in the First Baptist Church of Gap. The Rev. Walter E. Venman, officiated.
