ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York state Republican Party Chairman Ed Cox has been re-elected to his leadership post.
Cox was unanimously re-elected at a state party meeting Tuesday. The lawyer and longtime party activist was first sworn in as chairman of the state Republican Party in 2009.
Cox's first task of his new term will be helping Republican Joe Lhota in the race for New York City mayor. Polls show Lhota trailing Democrat Bill de Blasio.
