Shows to go on at Carnegie Hall during talks

NEW YORK (AP) — The show will go on at Carnegie Hall despite a dispute with the stagehands union.

The New York concert hall says Thursday's performance by the American Symphony Orchestra will proceed while labor negotiations continue.

A strike by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local One union forced Carnegie Hall to cancel Wednesday's performance.

The Philadelphia Orchestra performance was to have been the first concert of Carnegie Hall's season.

Carnegie Hall says the dispute centers on the union's demand for jurisdiction over the Education Wing that's set to open next year.

The concert hall says all other performances remain on its schedule pending further updates.
