NYPD seeks robbery suspect who impersonates police

NEW YORK (AP) — The NYPD is looking for a man who impersonates police while committing robberies in the Bronx.

Police say the suspect hails livery cabs, identifies himself as a police officer by producing a shield and then robs the victim of property while brandishing a firearm.

According to WCBS-TV ( ), the first robbery occurred in June 2012 at the corner of East 194th Street and Webster Avenue and continued over the course of the next 15 months.

The most recent robbery occurred on Sept. 23 on Rowland Street.
