NEW YORK (AP) — The NYPD is looking for two masked thieves who held up and pistol-whipped a man at a Columbia University apartment building.
Police say the suspects knocked on the apartment door and pushed their way in when the resident answered at 11 p.m. Monday.
According to the New York Post (http://bit.ly/199Pds5 ), police say the two stole cash and a cellphone and then beat up the man who answered the door.
They then fled.
Another roommate was not injured.
The victim was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
It was not immediately clear if the roommates were students at the university.
The school didn't immediately return calls for comment.
