Raiders acquire QB Matt Schaub from Texans

March 21, 2014
Associated Press

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Raiders have acquired quarterback Matt Schaub from the Houston Texans for an undisclosed draft pick.

The teams completed the trade on Friday after Schaub passed a physical.

The Raiders are counting on Schaub to bounce back from a disappointing 2013 season in Houston and replace Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin as the starter in Oakland.

Schaub was Houston's starter from 2007 until last season, when he was benched in favor of Case Keenum after a terrible start to the year. The 32-year-old is a two-time Pro Bowler, who last made the game in 2012.
