The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, in conjunction with the Dunkirk Free Library, Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System and the James Prendergast Library, is offering a free Grant Seeking Basics training. The training will be held June 4 at the Dunkirk Free Library, 536 Central Ave., Dunkirk.
Grant Seeking Basics will have two segments: Foundation Directory Training and Grant Writing Training. Participants will learn how to search for grant sources via the Foundation Directory Online database in the first segment. Basic grant writing skills will be reviewed in the second segment.
Two sessions of Foundation Directory Training will be held, the first from 9 to10:15 a.m. and the second from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Participants need only attend one session.
Grant Writing Training will begin at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided for all participants at 11:30 a.m.
As a part of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System, Dunkirk Free Library provides visitors with free public access to the Foundation Center’s online databases, foundation director online and foundation grants to Individuals.
The fully searchable databases include detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations, as well as an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation’s top funders.
Megan Disbro, Software Training and Web Specialist Librarian from the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System, will teach the Foundation Directory Online Searching session.
