Hardy elected Brocton school board president
By JOAN JOSEPHSONBROCTON - A change in Brocton School Board's officers took place at the annual organization meeting.
Susan Hardy took the oath of office for her second five-year term, then was unanimously elected school board president.
She takes over the head position from Camile Belcher, who held the board president's post for the past four years.
Board member Rodney Geiben was unanimously elected to the first vice president seat and was again named as board parliamentarian.
David Hazelton was re-elected to another five-year term and took his oath of office as well.
Belcher was elected unanimously to the second vice president's seat.
The board passed a resolution regarding the 2008-09 tuition rates charged for non-resident students who were enrolled in Brocton Central during the 2006-07 school year.
The tuition rate is based on the state tuition formula with students in grades kindergarten through six charged $1,604 for one child and 50 percent of this amount for a second child in the family.
Students in grades seven through 12 will be charged $2,266 for one child and 50 percent of this amount for a second child.
Superintendent Jack Skahill said these tuition charges are limited to non-resident students who were enrolled in the 2006-07 school year and no new tuition students will be accepted.
The board will continue to meet on the first and third Thursday of the month
