Anthony C. Gugino "Peanut": Of 35 Holt St., Westfield, NY, died Tuesday morning, July 1, 2008, at Westfield Memorial Hospital after a long illness, with his loving wife Carmela Marino Gugino, children and his brother and sister-in-law, Connie and Anthony Cash, all of Westfield, at his side.

Anthony was born in Fredonia, NY on July 26, 1930, the son of the late Russell and Rose (Constantino) Gugino and lived on Eagle St., Fredonia. He was a Fredonia School graduate (1950), served in the U.S. Air Force, Staff Sergeant (1950-54), stationed at Edwards & Greenland Air Force Bases. He worked for Bell's and Loblaw's Corp. in Dunkirk, as a Meat Manager until his retirement in 1989 after many years of service. He was a former member of St. Anthony's Church, Fredonia, a member of the St. James Major Church of Westfield, the Council #3100 of the Knights of Columbus of St. James Major Church Westfield, NY, Loyal Order of the Moose Club of Westfield, an avid bowler, loved gardening, and to travel with his family to many places around the country.

Anthony also had a great love for his wife, Carmela Marino Gugino, whom he married May 30, 1964 at St. James Major Church of Westfield, his two sons, Daniel J. and Russell A. Gugino, both of Atlanta, GA, three grandchildren, Michelle, Max and Maren Gugino and several nieces and nephews.

Anthony also had a special friendship and love for his brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Connie Cash and his many friends.

He is predeceased by a brother, Joseph C. (Evelyn) Gugino of Brocton, NY.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Major Church. Westfield, where the Rev. Joseph Walter, Pastor, will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass and may call at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home of Westfield, 52 So. Portage St., Westfield, NY, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Interment will be in St. James Major Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. James Major Church, Chautauqua County HOSPICE Assoc. or the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation in his memory.
