Recently, Heritage Ministries' Rehab & Skilled Nursing celebrated AAHSA (American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging) Homecoming Week. This year's theme was "Community Treasures: Celebrating the Gift of Age."
Homecoming Week gives Heritage and other skilled nursing facilities in the nation the opportunity to showcase their day-to-day activities and the benefits provided to the community as a whole.
Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing
As part of the annual Homecoming Week, Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing residents, families, and the community had the opportunity to experience a Pot Luck Lunch and Revival Service. The Revival Service was a mixture of musical entertainment, which included well-known hymns, as well as a spiritual message given by Heritage Chaplains, the Rev. Sam Shreffler and the Rev. Gerald Haglund. The event was well attended by Heritage Park residents, family members, and staff.
Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing
Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing recently celebrated Homecoming Week with a Senior-to-Senior Day at its location in Gerry. Cassadaga Valley High School Seniors Emily Hunter, Teresa Smith, and Steven States had the opportunity to interact and share their responses to questions posed by Stanley Weeks, Ray Albaugh, Claris Callen, and Helen Pearson, residents of Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. Set in a moderator format, questions ranged from family values, career choices, and family size to college choices and changes in society over the years.
Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing
As part of the continuing Homecoming Week, Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing held a "Tribute to Veterans" day. The day included a red, white and blue dress down day for staff and residents. As part of the tribute, staff members and residents were encouraged to purchase ribbons, with proceeds going to the AMVETS Club in Jamestown. At the end of the day, a music program honoring local veterans took place. Veterans who are currently in the facility as residents and any family member veterans were honored as part of the event.
The primary focus of all staff members at Heritage is meeting the holistic needs of each individual resident. Additionally, each and every employee strives to pursue Heritage Ministries' mission of promoting hope, dignity, and purposeful living.
