Dunkirk Metal Products seeks personnel
Fast-growing Dunkirk Metal Products Inc. plans to add both professional and production workers in the near future.
Over the past year, the company has expanded its core metal fabricating business to include proprietary products manufacturing. The firm's two subsidiaries, Alternative Fuel Boilers, LLC and Fold-A-Way Storage Systems, LLC, respectively manufacture the Econoburn wood gasification boiler and a complete line of convenient, drop-down shelving and storage cabinets for multiple homeowner uses.
"The demand for these new, innovative products has been tremendous," said company executive vice president Dana Johnson. "We need to add both professional and production staff to ensure our company's long-term core commitment to quality and on-time delivery."
He said the company needs a manufacturing engineer to support the operational and manufacturing process at the company's Dunkirk and Brocton plants. A two-year degree in manufacturing engineering or 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing, including knowledge of Solid Works software and CNC programming, is required.
The firm also seeks an applications/service engineer to provide training, customer service and testing support for the rapidly expanding Econoburn? dealer network. A bachelor's degree or 5 to 10 years of manufacturing experience, plus knowledge hydronic heating systems, is required.
Johnson said the company also needs a quality assurance manager. This position is responsible to define and implement all customer and internal quality control specifications as well as maintaining the company's ISO 9001-2000 certification. A bachelor's degree and five years of experience in manufacturing, with an emphasis in quality control, is required. A auality assurance technician who will work with the QA manager in a support capacity is also being sought.
The company will soon transition from a one-shift to a three-shift operation and Johnson explained that will greatly increase the need for more production workers as well.
"We will need many more welders, brake press operators and turret operators in order to staff the additional shifts," he said.
