Mass to honor deceased DHHS ‘68 classmatesS, CM
Classmates, family and friends of the 1968 classes of Dunkirk and Cardinal Mindszenty high schools are invited to attend the 5 p.m. mass Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church to honor deceased classmates.
Classmates do not need to be registered for this weekend's class reunion in order to attend this mass.
Deceased classmates include: DHS - Gary Aiken, Eugene Begier, Kathleen Blass, Richard Briska, Donald Centner, Gary and Gerry Drozdiel, John Hurley, Jimmie Lee Hooten, Yvonne Waller, Tim and Tom Korzniewski, Sandy Leone, Gregory Pencek, Robert Schlia, Gary Swingle, Jerry Speziale, James Zappie and Mark Zepp. CMHS - James Majak, Lynn Murtaugh, Jane Tilly, Jackie Dykas, Deb Madurski, Sharon Hornemann and Cynthia Pienta.
The 40th reunion will begin Friday with an informal golf outing at Shorewood Country Club, tee-off times begin at 12:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., an informal gathering will begin at Katerina's, located above Demetri's Restaurant.
The weekend will continue with a dinner dance to be held at Shorewood CC. A social hour will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a sit-down dinner. The "Heard of Buffalo" will provide music for dancing and listening pleasure. The well-known Western New York band will include an appearance by DHS classmate Scott McElhany, a singer-songwriter from Nashville, who will sit in for several songs with the band. Attire for the dinner-dance is dressy casual.
