Richard and Doris Abbey of Sinclairville were surprised with a dinner party in Fredonia honoring their 60th wedding anniversary. Guests were attendants of the couple's original wedding. The party was given by Shirley Coon of North Carolina, sister of Doris.
The Abbeys were married on Aug. 21, 1948 in the Cherry Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Foster officiating.
Mr. Abbey retired from Road Way Express. Mrs. Abbey retired from the Cassadaga Valley Central School District. They have six children, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
