Kathleen Ann (Erickson) Calanni, 54, of 5163 Stockton-Brocton Rd., P.O. Box 219, Stockton, passed away Monday morning (March 23, 2009) surrounded by her family in Brooks Memorial Hospital. A lifelong area resident she was born January 24, 1955 in Jamestown, the daughter of Florence M. Howard Erickson and the late E. Richard Erickson. Kathleen was a 1973 graduate of Falconer High School and was employed by the Chautauqua County Home as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She was a member of the Independent Order of the Vikings, St. Mark's Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church. Her love of horses was shared with others as she was an active member of Chautauqua County Trail Riders, American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC), Eastern Competitive Trail Ride Association, founder and treasurer of Chautauqua/ Cattaraugus Chapter of NYS Horse Counsel, Chautauqua County 4-H Leader for

over 20 years, former member of Bits & Spurs and NATRC. She was an active participant in distance and endurance trail riding. A devoted wife, mother

and grandmother, her grandchildren Catherine and Derek brought her much joy. Kathleen will be missed by her loving family and her beloved horses, Jivis, Peoples, Spring, Tebra and Andrew. Surviving are her husband of 32 years Russell D. Calanni Sr. whom she married August 7, 1976, a son

Russell D. (Michelle) Calanni Jr. of Belfast, NY, two daughters; Dayna (Chris) McCumber of Ontario, Canada, Megan Calanni at home, two grandchildren;

Catherine and Derek Calanni of Belfast, her mother Florence Erickson of Stockton, a sister Julia Ingrao of Randolph, a brother Richard E. (Lisa) Erickson of Falconer, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father E. Richard Erickson who died August 8, 2008 and cousin

Bonnie Migliore. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. John Saraka pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church

will officiate. Burial will be in Stockton Greenwood Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday

in the funeral home. Memorials may be donated to Chautauqua County 4-H Horse Program, c/o Emily Kidd, 3542 Turner Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
