Isaac "Ike" Carreras, 50, of Silver Creek died unexpectedly Sunday morning (May 10, 2009) at home.
He was born July 22, 1958 in Trenton, N.J., the son of Lina (Rodriguez) Carreras of Holland, Pa., and the late Tomas Carreras.
Ike was a 1977 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Levittown, Pa.
He had been employed at the Carriage House in Dunkirk and also at Tom's Family Restaurant in Silver Creek.
Our Isaac was a wonderful man. He cared and was good to everyone. He also thought about people who needed help. If someone
needed a place to stay, the door was open. If you were hungry, he would feed you. He enjoyed his work; he
worked with pride. His smile would set the mood.
Our father wanted the best for us. We were my dad's pride and joy. He loved us.
My dad also worked at Tom's Family Restaurant for 16 years. He was Tom's right-hand man. He was loved and adored by everyone at Tom's. He loved to clean, go for walks, do yard work and play with his dog, Chancee.
Besides his mother, he is survived by former wife, Janet B. Carreras of Danbury, Conn.; two sons, Michael A. Carreras and Chad R. Carreras, both of Dunkirk; seven brothers, Martin (Maria) Carreras of Trenton, N.J., Manuel (Gina) Carreras of Newtown, Conn., Joseph Albert (Minerva) Carreras of Decaturville, Tenn., Felix (Doris) Carreras of Burlington, N.J., Juan B. (Viviana) Carreras of Trenton; Tomas Carreras and Moises Carreras, both of Puerto Rico; eight sisters, Tomasita Carreras of New Milford, Conn., Ana Rita Carreras of Fairless Hills, Pa., Olga (Roger) Carreras-Groffy of Garland, Texas, Teresa Carreras of Richardson, Texas, Carmen (Bill) Moyet of New Britain, Conn., Edivia (Naci) Carreras-Sahid of Levittown, Pa., Arlyn Carreras of Puerto Rico
and Ana Maria Morales of Newark, N.J.; dear friends Milo, Randy, Shelby, Phil and Midget. Several nieces and nephews, his pet dog Chancee, and his cat, Princess also survive.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Jonathan Carreras; one sister, Rosalina Mullen; and an infant
brother, Juan Bautista Carreras.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Friday morning at 11 o'clock in Holy Trinity Church. Friends are invited to call this evening
